Easycargo makes the radiometric measurement service available to commercial operators and the issuing of measurement certificates required by the Regulations. Persons who, for industrial or commercial purposes, carry out import, collection, storage activities or carry out melting operations of scrap or other resulting metallic materials, have the obligation to carry out, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 3, radiometric surveillance on the aforementioned materials, in order to detect the presence of anomalous levels of radioactivity or any disused sources, to guarantee the health protection of workers and the population from events that may lead to exposure to ionizing radiation and to avoid contamination of the environment. The same obligation applies, in accordance with paragraph 3, to subjects who, in large metal import centers or at the main transit hubs, carry out activities for the industrial or commercial purpose of importing semi-finished metal products or finished products in metal. The provision does not apply to subjects who carry out activities that exclusively involve transport and do not carry out customs operations. The radiometric surveillance certificate is issued by a radiation protection expert referred to in paragraph 2 of article 72 appointed by the responsible party (whose list is established at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies).

Several commonly imported products fall within those referred to in the regulation called CBAM reg. EU 956/2023, which has entered into force. On the basis of this regulation, each importer will have to register on the dedicated portal and will only have to proceed with reporting in the first transitional phase.
